Meet Our Visionary Nursing Dean

Embarking on a journey of innovation and excellence, the Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) proudly introduces, Dr. Linda Haddad. A distinguished leader with a wealth of experience, Haddad brings a transformative vision to nursing education. Previously serving as the director and Irwin Belk Distinguished Professor at the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), Haddad has left an indelible mark on one of North Carolina's largest nursing schools. Prior to UNCW, Haddad served as the associate dean for Academic Affairs in the University of Florida College of Nursing, helping elevate the DNP program to the No. 1 ranking in Florida. Her commitment to interprofessional education was demonstrated through modifying and expanding curricula across colleges.

Bringing a global perspective to her role, Haddad, a native of Jordan, has also played a pivotal role in international health initiatives, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing community health in the Middle East.

As a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, Haddad's scholarly pursuits have focused on critical areas such as tobacco cessation among minority groups, demonstrating her dedication to community and public health nursing.

With a wealth of transformative leadership, Haddad is poised to redefine the college's educational landscape. Her dynamic vision for LCON has already initiated significant changes within the college, breathing new life into its mission, vision and strategic goals. The comprehensive updates align seamlessly with the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.
